Goin back to the dyno to see what kind of numbers i can put down, first time was a best of 244rwhp and 321 lbft on the torque. That was with the cast camel hump 194 heads, much smaller cam, action-plus intake and a 670 Holley. Setting my sight low, only cause i know how much of a let down it can be, i'll post video and printouts when i get home!

Results; 305 rwhp and 372 lbft torque, i can live with that. I kept falling short of the 300 mark, so we pulled the power steering belt and bam 305! 6500rpm and it was still climbing on the hp. Im working on the video now, i'll post it as i get it edited.

Whats the corrected numbers?
? Not sure, im pretty sure they would be higher, mid to upper 70s, and we have high humidity, not sure about the barometric pressure was though.

Nice numbers!! But how was your AFR and timing? Your torque curve seems to be pretty short? Peak at about 2700rpm and then drops drastically from there? Kinda weird I think. With your peak Hp at 6000/6500rpm I would think your peak torque should have been up around 3500/4500 rpm range?? I bet there is more left in her with some timing and a good dyno carb tune! Just my thoughts though. Nice job!!

Its the second time i've been to this dyno, and the second time my graph just doesnt look right to me. The torque curve just dosent seem right, and why does every other dyno sheet i look at have the lines cross aroud 5200 rpm. Im aware that there are different scales on either side of my graphs, but could i really be losing torque that fast?

Yes it is a proven fact that the torque curve and hp curves should roughly cross at 5250rpm. I have a much smaller cam and hp rating than you but my torque curve does not fall off that fast? My torque peaks at 2500rpm and then gradually tapers off until about 4500rpm wich is my peak HP and then it all starts to fall from there. I would suggest you try a different dyno next time. Just my thoughts.

Its not going to cross at "roughly" 5,250 it will cross at EXACTLY 5,250. That is due to the way HP is calculated.
TQ X RPM / 5250.

if you look at the hp/tq numbers theyre both about 282 at 5250rpm. they do cross there. it just wierd the way its graphed

That graph is strange! Good call whitelightnin92! Torque still doesn't look right though. I don't know a bunch about dyno sheets but just from looking at quite a few on TV, and online seemes like the torque falls off very quickly.

Lot of it is in the set up. from what i read in his sig he built it to make rpm and hp not torque. Which is back wards to do in a truck IMHO but hey to each their own

So what would you suggest i do to flatten the torque curve out?
