For those who are familiar there is a black plastic "tray" under neath the carpet under the pedals. The parking brake line is routed through it and it has what appears to be sponge type material under it. My question is does anyone know how to take this out of the truck? My buddy had a windsheild leak and all on the drivers side floor its got rust and i want to get under neath that piece to check to see if its bad under there. I pulled on it and it seemed like it was almost gonna pop out but wanted to see if ne one knew for sure.
thanks

In my 2000 Silverado, there was a plastic ring that went around the e-brake cable through the floor, and I thought it was leaking in the rain, since that foam sound deadening material was SOAKED. I ended up cutting out what I could, and putting automotive goop around the entire ring to seal it. Haven't had a problem since, and hope this helps. If your pulling the trim pieces off, just be gentle, and they'll come up with no problems

Glad you were able to get it figured out. Water inside the truck is never fun. I had the typical leak around the 3rd brake light into the back seat, and finally got it solved with gasket sealant.
