Was there a brick under your accelerator pedal? :chair:
Foot to the wood man, wheel speed (and momentum) are the name of the game in mud. Looked like a mud drag track more than a bog though.

what i was thinking.
a mud bog is how far can ya make it. around here that is a mud run, how fast can ya make it. in a mud bog, no way your truck would make.
the local bog here last year, only 1 truck made it though, and that was a power stroke on 46's.
but next time, petal to the metal. keep the tires spinnin.

I hate mud pits, the type you describe. Most places arent ran well enough to get them out in a timely manner. There is a place up the big road a little that is horrible. It takes them FOREVER to get people out. It's not even a distance pit either, it's still a speed pit that I have seen 66" V-treads drag axle through. That junk sucks. Granted, the slow/heavy trucks usually are the ones stuck. The light/fast ones stay on top and scoot right on through.
However, I LOVE mud racing. A track three feet deep and 200' long with nothing but time to beat. Speed is where you get consistent and consistency is where the money is at.

i hate mud pits as well, and try to avoid them. one reason my jeep was not entered in teh contest there last year.
but this was a 200' long pit, a good 3-4' deep of thick mud. 4wd yota's and jeeps on 33's barely made it a truck length into the pit before being stuck. but they were very timely on getting things out. they would strap you before you went in and had one of the largest model bobcats for recover. if the bobcat would not pull you out, the ford that made it through was on hand for recovery. this was no speed pit, just a pure distance pit. if more than one made it, then it came down to fastest time.

I put my tahoe through the mud sling at the county fair, that thing was a joke though. The mud was only about a foot deep and the pit was only 200' long. I had no problems with the 35's I have though she walked right on threw it. The best part is at the end of the night there is a mud run for any of ladies that want to race through it for the money for passing the hat around the stands.

I went throw a pit/drag (tow'n & throw'n (Ohio State))... it was fun except the 8 hours of cleaning afterwards. Had 3 wheelbarrow loads of mud on the concrete after washing it out. Still finding mud I missed 15 months later...
Still looking for pics, but here is my buddy's F250 stuck (i'm in the background). I had to pull him out

It wasn't so much the screaming or cheering as the violent shaking of the camera.

i want to say thanks to underpowered for fixing my link, and maby it was mis advertized as a mud bog it wasnt that great of pit i mean they made it so you could bring what you run as in like a daily drivers and stuff. yes the camera man my brother-inlaw was alil annoying which i am sorry about he actually has a hardon for my truck and he gets excited over it, i am gona lay down some ground rules for him next time and show him how to run the video camera. the reason why i let off the gas cause i was not trying to blow my engine my truck has 206K miles on it and i dont need to blow it up when its my daily driver.. i know your suppost to keep it floored but i am not gona blow up my daily driver over it. plus i had issues with the 4x4 it was not working right as you could tell in the video. push button 4x4 sucks i want to change it to a manual x-fer case so i know its locked in when i put it in 4H. all i know is i had fun and i was the only truck to get stuck and get out under my own because i was driving a :FSC:

Where can I get more information on this mud bog? I would like to go there to run in the mud next year. Is there a website or phone number to who runs this event?
