I'm heading to the track Friday for the open to the public drags in the 1/4. The truck is a 96 3/4 ton extended cab long bed with the vortec 454. I have a custom tune, headers, true duals, intake, and 20's with 305/50/20s. I really have no idea where I will run. Mid 16's? It doesn't hit too hard off the line because of the wheel tire combo so I'm not worried about spinning but it pulls hard once it's moving. Any ideas?

Well stock that motor produces 290HP and 410 ft lbs of torque. With the modifications you have you should be around 310 hp and 420ft lbs of torque. I don't know your gear ratio but with the weight of your truck and the 20's I'm going to guess around a 16.1-16.4 depending on traction and track conditions. Good Luck and post your times when you get them.

My best time is a 14.52 at 93.8 MPH. A little better traction and some cooler weather and I'm hopin for a 14.3. Stock I was running 16.6 so I am very happy with a 14.52. Nice truck and nice setup, are you still running stock tbi?

yea with bigger injectors... is your rear stock? (other then the posi unit) i was worried about my 10 bolt not handling it... me and you have pretty close set ups even on rims haha

Ya my rear is stock other than the posi. So far it's handled it fine. I've got probably 200 passes on it in the past 5 years. I've run my truck pretty hard ever since I got it and it's held up well minus a transmission but it had 175000 miles on it when it went. I got 190000 on the truck now (about 20000 miles since punched to a 383) and the rear end has been solid. Take that truck to the track I'm curious to what it will run. What else do you plan on doing to it if anything? I'm kicking around the idea of a stall but I'm not sure yet.

If you are lucky you will be in the high 15s but 16s seem more realistic.
