Not only did i get my number, i did better. I only made 2 passes, would have run more if i would have had a helmet. The 26" M/T Sportsman Pro's hooked awesome. I thought we got video, but when i tried to play back this morn, it keeps saying disk error. I'll post video once i get the darn thing fixed!

Congrats. I knew your truck had it in it. Plenty of power, it was just to get it to hook. Hope you get the video working.

Well looks like my new goal is 13.88 or better! Thanks for making it that much harder to reach!

Nice times. What all did you do different from your last runs? I know the shorter tires. Did you do anything else? Curious if it was just traction, and lighter wheels and tires out back that helped you.

Quite a few things, first time to the track with this motor, first time with an auto, and the tires. I couldent beleave how well they bite, i never noticed that they are a super soft compound. I also took out the bed liner, save me 37lbs, not in the right place but its weight reduction. I think it will run faster, i wasent launching real hard, but i have to buy a helmet before i can run again. New goal is 13.2xs, i'll work it down by tenths, not seconds.

that was some pretty dang good r/t on the first run, and you cut a decent 60 the second run. grats on the 13.xx.

The tracks we go to both offer helmets if you don't have one. Major bummer that yours doesn't. I am going to take a helmet next time I go I just hope I get to use it!

Also I obviously didn't realize you changed so many things. I thought you were able to take this motor to the track once before but needed more traction. Obviously I am not stalking your upgrades and changes enough!

They do have the community helmets, but rather have my own. Last time i went to the track is when my first cam went out, bout 15min into the ride home, tore it apart, new everything, 16 miles on the odometer and another cam went out. Thats when i switched to a different short block w/ my heads and a roller conversion. I've spent way to much money on this thing, but i'm having fun doing it.

Thanks guy for all the complements, this forum helped me out more than you can imagine, tons of great info!

EDIT; anybody know how to get a sony handy cam to quit saying disc error on the screen, i want to see how it looked going down the track myself!

Nice job Fast95. I knew after looking at the first timeslip you could reach the 13.99 mark. Then I scrolled down to see you second slip. BINGO!

Dropping it by tenths IS THE WAY to do it. Dropping by seconds, takes big money.

Good Job Man.

Unless you drop a 150 shot on it! $300-$500 and you can be deep into the 12s!

Fast 95, your engine is as good looking as your truck. Glad to also see it makes some power. Nicely done, I'm jealous!

How do you like your locker? I've had a couple of them in other trucks that I've had.

I remember when i put it in, i thought to myself, this thing is never gonna hold up! Its still in there and holding strong, no complaints so far.

Nice. I love the sound of the locker ratcheting and it's unique driving characteristics. It's not for the faint of heart, ESPECIALLY with a manual trans. I thought the same thing when I first put them in, infact I was thinking I just pissed away 300 sum bucks. I have used them in an V8 powered S-10 with a 7.5" 10bolt, and one in a 94 2wd light duty 2500 with a 9.5" 14 bolt. When I was prepping the 94 to sell it, swapped back in the spider gears, and the locker looked brand new. I was impressed as hell, and I wasn't easy on it.

I've got a buddy at work that races a 400sb powered Nova at an 1/8 mile track. We're always joking about racing each other, my truck vs his race car's tow rig. He's got a 2000ish V10 dodge 2wd eclb, the things a friggin beast. I may take him up on it... I need to go to a test and tune, and see which would be quicker, starting off in granny or second...

Sorry for the serious thread jack.

Yeah, we try to be there before the gates open, that way we can get tires and stuff changed before we tech in.
