so i was wonderin if an H-pipe would change the tone of my exhaust at all or just leave it unaffected. my current exhaust setup needs more low end so i was thinkin bout puttin an H-pipe on. all my exhaust is hedman longtubes into dynatech hi flo cats off each of the headers reducers...yeah really short. thing is i really like how it sounds as it sits right now and i dont want it to change much but i need more low end grunt since right now all i have is midrange-hi. i woundnt mind having a cleaner tone at low revvs like cruisin in 5th at low rpm(sounds ****in ratty as hell) also would i feel any difference in performance? ive never ran an Hbefore n im curious but ya id like to hear ur opinions.
thanks

h-pipe with your existing setup will do exaclty what you want. it will get rid of some of that high pop and overall gain c little deeper cleaner tone. if you do gain any performance it will be so small you wont notice.

It'll sound more toned and deeper at all speeds, and you can notice it pull a bit harder at low rpm. I never looked back after getting mine put in, now i'd never run duals without a crossover.

h-pipe's are a thing of the past,if you want more torque and horse power get a real x-pipe you will be stoked ........

vic n fast thanks also for the help. and i barely have exhaust on it thats why i want an h pipe, and if i had the room i would run an x pipe but unfortunitley i dont have any where near enough room...i cant even run full bodied mufflers with how crammed my truck is, and yeah i put 3" exhaust on my nova with that x pipe made a nice difference but ya it wont fit on my truck

An H-pipe isn't a thing of the past, duals with no crossover is. An H-pipe will make just as much low end torque if not more than an X-pipe, the X-pipe just makes a bit more in the top end which a truck 99 times out of 100 never sees and even so it's not enough to notice without a dyno. The H-pipe does however make a deeper tone.

I'd put it in as soon as possible, but like on Mustangs they have the H-pipe just after the cats. And I think if an H-pipe works on a Mustang, it'll work on a truck.
