had my truck buffed today...got rid of a bunch of what seemed "permanent" water spots on the hood and top...guy that buffed it, he does this for a living, said that they derived from acid rain...
ok..i trust him and his word so thats what im going with...
is there any way to prevent these acid rain spots? after each wash its dried and all taht good stuff...
TIA

A good wax and good washing/drying habits.

as far as wax goes...i use a turtle wax colored wax so i dont have the white residue on a black truck...one could spend a day getting it all off..
and yes...i admit..my washing habits are not the best in the world...during the winter it may get washed a handful of times, but then again we have very little snow here..the summer however it may not be as many as it should be...
as far as drying goes...i hate it...seems like every time i use my little drying thing it streaks it up...so i have to go behind the drying and polish...
i saw some link on here the other day....poorboys cleaning products or something??
ETA...the main reason for having the truck buffed, a stray cat decided to claw the tailgate for whatever reason...but that cat is no longer with us...he/she got lead poisoning...

as far as cleaning, just a little tip. If you know you need it but wont be able to do it soon, touchlesses are not the devil. I dont use them regularly, but I do use them to tide me over sometimes. Gotta be better than being dirty, no?

You get streaks because there is still contamination on your paint.

Also since you are working on black...washing and drying in the sun is hard to do without water spots and streaking. Try washing it in the shade or right after the sun goes down.
