That is a pretty open question. What tranny are you wanting to use? How much fab work are you capable of or wanting to do? You can buy a lot of parts and basically bolt it in or you can make all the swap parts yourself. Destroked.com has a lot of what you may want/need. There are several places selling motor mounts and even full front crossmember conversions like avalancheengineering.com but require a 4" or more lift. I personally don't like any of the motor mounts you can buy because they all seem to use the first gen rubber mount. Maybe that is all that will fit? When I did my 4bt swap in my 05, I made my own mount brackets and used hydraulic mounts. I have been looking into doing a 6bt swap in my buddies 05 Chevy and I plan to make the mounts myself using the late model dodge mounts.

Its called research. If you can't get what you need from those website and the search feature, you shouldn't be attempting this project
Based on my research on this topic over the past 2 years, i would suggest you slow down a little bit and cover all you basis here, rather then just trying to mig weld a cummins between two frame rail.
Vortecz brings up all the main points, like tranny and motor mounts.
What do you have for a donor or you just picking up the first 12v that you can find and hoping it runs when you try to start it up after the swap.\
Despite being an 3/4 ton 86, i don't see the springs hold up/lasting all the long, let alone sitting at the same height as they did with whats currently in there.
I would have to go back and look as its been some time, but you need to consider the steering pump. I know the fords have an issue and usually end up having to use the dodge pump which causes some hassle, the chevys i do not remember.
I am not really one to speak, but i can safety say that on those two forums (as well as others out there) i have read every swap forum possible. This isn't as easy as some people think who have a mig welder in there garage and some scrap steel kicking around, as a lot of people have that idea

well i have a complete donor truck with an auto trans. i kno the truck runs though. its my buddies old work truck. its like a 94, 95, or 96. and basically i want to get a complete bolt up kit for all motor mounts, etc... im not too good with a welder by any means. never had any opportunity to just sit down and start welding and progress from there.

I'm planning on doing the same swap (almost) I want to put a 4BT into a 3/4 83 GMC with a 6.2 in it originally.

Good luck man, I plan to put a 12 valve 5.9 cummins in my 96 2wd in a few years.
Let us know how it turns out.

Into a 1500? You'll be good at rebuilding your front end after a few years of that...

Do the research!
In any swap, the nickle and dime stuff (or the stuff that might not seem all that important from the idea stage) will end up dragging you down.
With buying a bolt in (or prefabbed) swap kit, you do take alot of the guesswork out of the equation. When welding up your own mounts, you'd need to make sure you're driveline is lined up properly or within factory like specs, so that you don't get any vibrations, grinding or complete destruction of U-joints, Yokes or transmissions.
The Dodge 4spd auto's are generally very weak. I've seen a few last without incident (even behind a 97 3/4 w/5.9L Cummins) but i've seen plenty that have died during that period too. Best choice is to buy an adapter from a company that allows you to use the transmission you want too.

Dodge trannies are good with a shift kit.
COmbination of low pressures and wrong fluid is what killed them.
Transgo shift kit and ATF+4 they'll go 200k behind a stock cummins.
