I have a 1990 gmc suburban. Looking to swap out the front bucket seats. Anyone know how new I can go without having to do any major customizations?

Im wanting to get some with the adjustable head rests.

:read: won't help him because a '90 Suburban is still a squarebody - they didn't go OBS until '92.

The squarebody has a large hump in the floor where the seats go, so seats that fit great in an OBS put your head into the ceiling on a squarebody. Anything like that you'll have to remove the brackets and make your own.

With that said, I had a guy buy an OBS straight bench seat from me, remove the two risers at each end, and made a simple frame for it out of small square tubing. The key is, you gotta drop 'em a lot to make them the right height for a squarebody. Manual OBS buckets used the same type risers for the most part, just a big stamped steel piece.
