View Full Version : First time at the track with lofty goals!

Well tomorrrow is track day. Most of you know 14.2 is my best so far. Plan was to take out weight and hit 13.99 or better as is. I removed 260# all from the seats forward. Hopefully no traction problems and with some luck I will make that goal.

Seccondly the plan to is run nitrous if I do or do not hit that goal after a few runs. A 125 shot very well could be enough to make it into the 12s!

Curious who thinks it will happen. Either goal.

you need to make the poll multiple choice. i dont think you can hit 12s on street tires. but i could be wrong. get a video for proof though. and good luck

Slicks and spray should put you in the 12's.

Well with the last attempt botched by bad weather and no traction, Tomorrow will be better. I don't know if I will make my times but everything is in place now for sure! Traction is plentyfull, nitrous system is tested to not leak and to activate. She will go or blow and in 24 hours or less I will know. I can't wait! I am like a little kid.

13.74 is all she could muster. N/A was 14.4. Only got one run N/A ,and two with nitrous 13.98 and 13.74. No where near my goals but bottle pressure was low from the cold and I am going to see if it really is a 100 shot. Calculator said so but we will see. I am happy to have a 13 sec truck but there is more in it with the current set up I think. I will explain more tomorrow and post videos but I am tired!

custm2500, what motor is in that truck? also what part of Ohio are you in?

im guessing this is 1/4 mile times correct?

I am from Toledo. NW Ohio. They are 1/.4 times my 1/8 is in to the 8s I think on my faster runs and usualy 9s with N/A runs.

It is a 6.0 with 238,000 miles! Stock on real mods are in my sig. Plus some weight reduction for this time to the track.

Damn, you got me, 13.75 to a 13.74 seems like a pretty good race to me. How did the tires hook?

damn i was sure you could hit low 13s at least. thats still damn impressive for a pretty much stock truck.

Tires hooked like they should! No problems. MPH at the top end on my NA run was only 1 mph less than before but my 60 ft was .1 slower on the slicks? Must have been the night because they seemed to hook good and hard. With bottle pressure where it should be I am sure I would push into the low 13s but we should be closely matched. If you can cut a light you got me because I am slow on the lights big time! We will have to try next year to get together. I will post vids soon I am going to play poker and am already tired.

As long as there isn't snow I will be going back NOV. 7th. Getting a gauge and will make sure I have pressure. I will probably take some 125 jets with me too. 1st gear shifts at 5200 seccond and third are much higher. I think I will spray through first and set the window switch at 5400 or so. I am missing allot of nitrous at the top of seccond so that will help allot. Again tired just checked up. I really want to watch and upload the vids but I am tired!

P.S. 238,000 miles and it held togather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck yea!!!!

My first run on the nitrous I wanted to make sure tires were hot and I was testing to see what gear would work best for my burnout on the slicks so I made a HUGE plume of smoke.
