The drivers side door on my 97 K1500 is getting harder and harder to open from the inside. I really have to yank on it for it to open. Can i adjust something in the door panel? Or is the handle itself worn out? Feel like I'm gonna break it off if I keep doing this. Thanks for any advice.

It is getting ready to break off, because that's what they do. Bad design from 95-up. Go buy a new one at the auto parts store for $20 or less.
Also, the rod that connects it to the latch can straighten out and cause this problem. It has a few bends in it that over time get pulled out and makes the rod too long to effectively do its job. Easy enough to kink back into place and should last a good long while without needing replacement.

Yes, you will break it soon. $14 and some change at NAPA, and in stock usually. It will require a drill for the rivet. About a 15-minute fix.

Any reason you guys don't go with a factory handle for replacement? I've heard some guys complain about the ones from the part stores.

Price. However, I don't go to AutoZone for anything... I tend to trust what comes from NAPA a bit more though.

I don't think the OEM one is worth a damn either...might as well go cheap, it's going to break anyway. Exactly the opposite of how I feel about most parts but the OEM handle is garbage too.

Mine did this, then broke. I find it's like a vicious circle, you start yanking on the handle and it starts breaking leading to you having to yank the handle more to open it. The more you yank, the more it breaks and BAM! Your stuck having to look goofy everywhere you go because you have to roll the window down and open the door from the outside. So be gentle to the new handle and only pull it enough to open the door.

Haha, this is exactly what happened to me a couple of days ago, it finally broke off and the handle is like not attached to anything, i don't can't fix it because i got no job right now and really in debt. As with everything on the truck its breaking so nothing i can do right now.
