But maybe I can still save it.
I got a '99 Tahoe for my wife. She likes it, but wanted a full overhead console. I ordered one off ebay, but d'oh!. It has Onstar and she wanted the sunglasses holder. I know, should have done more checking before I hit "buy".
Anyway, is there anyway to salvage it, or do I just need to find another console? It looks like the Onstar junk just pops right out.

Should just pop out, but you would have to find a sunglass holder for sale seperately which wouldnt be easy I dont think. Best bet may be to just resell yours and buy a different console.

Just checked. GMParts Direct has a sunglasses holder door, but it's $23 and there's a non-OnStar Console on ebay for $37.
Anybody need an OnStar overhead console?

I would take the OnStar console off of your hands....if OnStar still supported the older trucks...It'd be nice if OnStar had an option for them to install OnStar on GM vehicles that didn't come with it stock.

Damn I need a blue base. Well the junk yard charged me 5 bucks for any misc interior parts like that when I built my console.

If your interested, I have an overhead console from a 1999 Suburban sitting in my garage right now. Took it out of a friend's vehicle that was being "Clunkered-for-cash". Its got rear ac controls, homelink, sunglasses holder, and map holder. For a tan interior.
