which kit did you order? The $29.95 or the $49.95 ones? Also I am thinking about order the 55w kit for my lows and 35w for high because never can see with just my lows on. My question is will the 55w bulbs put to much heat for my factory housings. I plan on swaping to a set of TYC headlight when I get my tax return but I don't know if those will be able to handle the extra heat either. I've never had HIDs in anything so I'm pretty much going off of what you guys suggest. Thanks for the help.

Some run 55w in their lows without any complaints but I for one wouldn't take that risk, not without at least a relay to prevent the headlight switch or wires from roasting.

I think you will find that using a more white HID color that halogen bulbs can't reproduce will be a major leap forward for your night driving vision in the 35w option. But if you are the type that thinks more is better, and even more is much better, opt for 55w and a relay kit.

I plan on running a relay kit no matter what wattage I go with. I just don't know if the 55w bulbs will produce to much heat for the headlight housings. I also plan on running a 5000k or 6000k for the low beam and a 5000k for the high beam.

Your headlight housing could get away with a 55w halogen, so knowing that an HID bulb burns much cooler than a halogen of the same wattage, I'd say you shouldn't have any heat issues with the 55w.

Go 6K for the lows, and 5k for the highs. You'll like that setup for sure.

Unless there is something different with the headlight/foglight wiring between my 00 and your 04, you're not going to be needing that relay. I have the same exact setup, just a different heat range and it has been issue free for about a year now. Nothing wrong with throwing a relay in there, but just letting you know for your wattage and setup, it's not going to hurt anything if you don't use the relay.

I searched and found mixed reviews. I only got it because of the auto headlight feature turning on the lights before i start the truck. I dont want the ballast's to burn up.

I figured it was the ol' auto headlight issue. I never was a big fan of the auto headlights but I didn't have the courage to do the disable mod as I want to keep the wires and connections on my truck unmolested. However, shorty after my HID install, I quickly became a big fan of disabling the auto headlights permanently. The cool side effect is that you can run the running lights and fogs, without having to run the low beams. Can't do that with auto headlights enabled.
