So im thinking of buying a use 2008 to 2009 Silverado crew or ext cab 2wd so that i can lower it, here is the thing i live on the west coast of Vancouver and i go up the mountains alot to camp and board and i just happen to like twisty road which there are alot of on the way up to whistler and campsites so my question is can i make a crew or ext cab handle like my cobalt SS in the twistys? I know id have to lower the truck and add sway bars , upgrade the brakes but what else could i do to make it handle just as well or better than my cobalt?

side note im new to truck but i do have some experience with imports and my cobalt.

Also what brands would you recommend?
brakes---power slot with hawk pads
sway bars---anything over an inch thick?
lowering kit---ground force?

You can make a truck handle well, but its easily double and then some the weight of the cobalt. Its not really a fair comparison. The truck at its best will have different handling characteristics.

Hellwig Swaybars and or Hotchkis
As for the drop kits, anything from Belltech, DJM, Western Chassis, and McGaughy's is fine. Those are just drop brands though, there are suspension companies like Hotchkis, and Eibach that will probably give you a better ride and handling in the corners.
Brakes, Wilwood, Baer Brakes,
also, STAY AWAY FROM AIM/CHASSIS TECH products, they're an accident waiting to happen.
