My crappy old craftsman orbital buffer died, and I saw this at harbor freight yesterday. Im wondering if any of you guys have used this, and if you could tell me if you like it or not. It's only 50 bucks normally, seen them for 35 bucks on sale. I don't have the money to buy a nice makita, or dewalt rotary buffer, and im not a pro, so no need to spend the $300 plus, imo. Basically im wondering if this is a decent tool, or not.

you get what you pay for. everything ive ever bought from harbor freight broke. i have a makita, and just had to work on the power cord. so if my makita cant hold up that well, i cant imagine how that one will. also, if you have never used a rotary, i would stay away before you do some major damage to your ride.

I have it and used the harbor freight one for a sort time kept the buffer pad threw it out. Spent the money on a makita and love it. With the HF one any kinda of pressure it slows down. It shakes and sound like it has a bad bearing. The Makita so smooth powerful way better control of speed, if its set fot 1250 rpm thats how fast it goes free wheeling or loaded down.

I've helped my uncle with his detailing business a while back, so I know how to use a rotary buffer, but I don't have the cash to drop on a great dewalt like he has, plus its only going to be used on my truck, and not too often at that, so I cant justify spending alot of money on it. I know harbor freight has those replacement plans on their tools for when they break. Thanks for the help.

I bought that same one and have not had a problem with it, it is not a great one and eventually I would like to buy a better one but for someone with not much money and not using it that often it is perfectly fine

well, my harbor freight had one on sale, and it seems to work well, but it does bog down slightly when I put a decent amount of pressure on it, but it works well with my light compound and wax.

We have a few cars and trucks at our shop here and we bought one of these polishers, I purchased some good quality pads and so far so good, it's has a speed control and a trigger lock. I use it for some polishing before I finish up with the porter cable orbital to remove the swirls but if it is just for your truck I recommend it, if your concerned about it crapping out the first time you use it, buy with warranty for $3 more.
