Mixture Control Solenoid Adjustment?

So I'm rebuilding my carb because I have a faulty mixture control solenoid and I figure I might as well while i'm tearin it down. The control solenoids height is controlled by a screw and spring, and my question is, should it's height be set level with the metal frame, or is it more complicated than that?
