Hi,
I tried a search but did not get the results I was looking for.

I am going to get my truck tuned soon(05 2500HD 6.0L) and want to put the tune on the tow haul switch. I want to keep my stock tune for street driving and use the tow/haul to change to the custom for track/spirited driving.

Has anyone done this? Any Pro's/Con's?

Thanks,
Tim

I don't think you can do this. You can have tow/haul run much firmer shifts but I think that is about it. Maybe I am wrong but this is how my tune is set up and I don't think there is any other way.

I remember reading a tech article a few years ago in GM High Tech Performance, they did it but I never saw a followup on how well it worked out. They were calling it the "haul ass switch"

Either way, I'll probably try it. If it works out, I'll let you guys know.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it seems like I read on here somewhere that the tow/haul button only changes the transmission programing. :dunno:

After doing some more research, it seems that you are right. In the article, http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/0504htp_2004_chevrolet_silverado_modified_truck/autocross_results.html I misread. I thought that they were tuning the tow/haul but they were just changing shift points and turning TQ management off.

Thanks for the help.
