going carb, trans lock up ?

90 chevy 1/2 350 with a 700r4 .... What will happen when i do the swap and dont install the electric lock up in the trans?

Will it just not go into overdrive. Im going to install it but if i can drive without for a lil bit since i never see 50 mph going to work i would like to wait till i get a new trans or have this one rebuilt for more HP..

(EDIT) never mind i talked to the guys at the shop....

what did they say im in the same boat getting new motor want to run stock trans to get it rollin??

I driven mine a little over 1000 miles since I built the motor and swapped to a carb.
700R4 shifts great through all gears and goes into OD just fine.
From the factory, If I understand it correctly, the converter only locks up in OD to save gas.
Sometime in the future I plan on installing a lock up kit, but for now it's doing fine.
