My truck has 120xxx miles 2001 5.3... wondering if its a bad idea to supercharge it??? am i just gonna end up breaking things?

It will be fine. I had a 5.3 with a S/C from 40k-120k. Pulled the S/C off and went turbo at 120k. It ran fine to 190k plus. Lost a piston when it went lean. When I tore the engine down, It looked great except for the hole in piston # 7.
