what would be a good timing for a carbureted supercharged mild small block?should i even hook up the distributor vaccum advance at all?should i tinker with the msd boost retard some?a/f ratio is good and i have timing set to 0 until i can figure out where to put it.heres a little more about the motor
stock 350 short block
intercooled vortech v1 2.95 pulley 8psi
ported edelbrock 60859 heads
crane 467 494 camshaft
1.6 rocker arms
airgap intake
demon 650 blow through carb
73 jets up front no jets outback
aeromotive regulator
dual walbro 255's
msd btm box
msd hei distributor

No jets out back? seems 'alittle' odd......
Good place to start out would be 18* timing total under boost, dont go lean and run good gas (91octane pump). once the tune is dialed in 21-23* would be about perfect for a pumpgas engine. I'm assuming you have a wideband a/f ratio gauge?

i always use 93 pump gas and have a aem wibeband.i dont run any jets outback because it helps me get more fuel by the time boost kicks in since i run two fuel injection pumps one in tank one inline and all stock line.i have a jet assortment kit but the largest jet is still keeping fuel away.im using an actron advance timing light gun with an advance knob and i dont know how im going to shoot the timing under full boost spinning the engine at high rpm ? and i still need to know if to even hook up the vaccum advance on the hei distributor.

I havent got mine all tuned in yet, but i dont have the vacuum advance hooked up on mine. I still need to get a W/B.

i think im going to try 10* inital timing with the vacumm unhooked.my msd distributor has both vacuum and mechanical advanced. With the vacuum unhooked it should still add 20* mechanical advance.i see most people running around 25* - 30* total timing and dialing down detonation with the boost retard on the msd.i want to stay away from using the distributor vacuum advance all together because im blowing through the carb and the ported vacuum port will be sensing boost rather than vacuum before the carb.
