This question is for all of ya'll using Lake Country 6.5" CCS pads. Has anyone had recent problems with the felt backing seperating during buffing? I order from Autogeek and have never had this problem until the last few batches of pads. Just wanted to see if anyone else has run across this.

I love you Grant.

Is the velcro separating in the center? Also, how much polish or compound are you using?

Same as always...small strip to cover a 2x2 area. The Velcro just completly falls off the pad without warning. Autogeek was very good on the phone and is sending me another batch to replace them. The most recent pad that fell apart was only used twice. I was just seeing if anyone else out there is having trouble with the pads recently or if I just had the luck of getting some defective ones.

Ive never had an issue with any LC pads. I don't use a heck of a lot of polish either. Prolly 6 to 8 pea size drops on a panel after the pad is primed.

I also have had the same problem with the backing coming off, I just glued them with gorilla glue but I really didn't think that the batch was bad. Now im real careful when pulling them off the polisher.

Autogeek shipped me out about 7 replacement pads total. I abused the hell out of a couple for a day as a test and haven't had a single problem. I'm back to my normal technique and it seems to me that I was just lucky enough to get a bad set or something. Everything is kosher now.
