Just finished the install on my dad's 97 C1500. Couple pics of the motor and the truck in my garage, will get some better ones when we get it all cleaned up! Very happy with the performance of this blower, truck goes like snot, and it sounds AWESOME at idle and low rpm, gotta love that whistle! Also special thanks for Johnnie (96 Vortec@9psi) and the rest of the guys on here for the help with my questions!
Here are the specs of the truck:
97 Chev, 350 Vortec, Shorty coated Hooker headers, PROCHARGER, Air Raid CAI, Autometer Cobalt AFR, Boost, Fuel Pressure pillar mounted gauges, 17" Torq Thrust II's, 275/55/17 rubber, lowered 2"/4", Belltech shocks, roll pan, new paint with all chrome and moldings shaved. 160,000km on truck, so 100,000miles.

That kit looks nice sitting there under your hood. Great work that must be a blast to drive. the Vortec 350's already work good out of the hole, now it has some power up in the revs as well now.
In the future, if you ever want more power.
If you are running the stock headpipes form the headers to the cats, you are getting substantial pressure in the exhaust as the ehadpipes are only 1 7/8" with some pretty bad crimp bends that come down smaller than that on teh bends. A memeber here was running a 9 psi Vortec kit and he was getting 8 psi of back pressure at the O2 sensor holes. He went to Thorley mid length Try headerrs and used dual 2 1/2" headpipes into dual 3" cats and got his back pressure down to under 2 psi. Power went way up.

NICE Man, that looks great.
What kind of power are you makin?
Do you happen to have a part # for that kit?
Thanks

Thanks for the compliments guys!
Pauly - I plan on building a full stainless dual exhaust for the truck in the future, when I get some spare time - put my tig welder to some good use! I will build it with 2.5" pipes from the headers to dumps.
Sasquatch/Tigwldr - Not sure on the power as we haven't hit the dyno yet, but according to Procharger it's a 60-65% HP gain over stock. That would put it around 420hp to the flywheel I believe. As far as a part number for the kit it is: 1GH212-SCI, as far as price we paid around $5100 w/tax and shipping to my door (Canadian). Our dollar is pretty close to US right now, so should be similar pricing? We also spent about $650 for all the gauges (Wideband, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and Pillar mount).
Install went okay, just a few hiccups with the intercooler piping routes, happy to have a plasma cutter! We ended up notching the top of the passenger frame so the intercooler piping would clear the belt/fan enough. Also had to grind a spot down on the airhat to clear the A/C switch. That really surprises me that we had that problem, since Procharger designs these kits for this vehicle and they are all the same...but we made it work.

What is the whistle from? I have a Procharger P1 and it does not whistle.

Really? Did you by chance get the P1 with the optional helical gears (it's supposed to make it quieter). This has a very pronounced whistle at idle, you don't notice it cruising at highway speeds unless you really pay attention.

Awesome job guys! What size pulley do you have? How much boost are you pushing? My kit originally came with a 3.5" pulley and pushed 8-9 psi. A generous member gave me a 3.2" pulley that he no longer planned on installing & now 11psi!
I'm sure you know this now, but get yourself a syphon pump to change out the oil on that blower. As you can see from the way it is clocked that it is a tremendous PITA to remove the drain plug. Not to mention extremely messy.

Ha, I gave you that 3.20 pulley, you know what I went and bought another 3.20 and got my 11#
I do have the new cut gears, can't here it at all with the hood closed. What you do hear is the sandblaster BOV when ever I am not burning tires.

I know, I just didn't want to throw out names & have everyone hit you up for stuff. In any case I am immensely grateful!
Now I am in process for the marine intake swap with larger injectors as well as the 0411 pcm swap.

Page 2 of this thread has pics of a stock 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton headpipe and cat assembly laying side by side, both used behind stock Vortec 350's.. Look how tiny the 1./2 ton headpieps are and how badly they crimp down. Not good for flow, esp when boosted.

Lol,
Pauly, we JUST literally finished the oil change in the blower after the breakin, just thought I would check the forum. It wasn't too bad to drop oil, was able to see plug and get a wrench on it and got a small enough container in there to catch it, just spilled a bit!
We are seeing 8-9 psi at upper rpms, so very happy, truck seems to run great, and very responsive, has stock like driving characteristics, and really goes good. We will get to the exhaust sometime this year, but he wants to drive it most of the summer and enjoy it, so when I can buy some stainless bends and pipe I will start building something. Should be a fun project!
Thanks for all the compliments guys!
