bolt on shackle wont come off

i was trying to remove the stock shackles today and the bottom bolts came off without a problem. when i tried to remove the top bolts they wouldnt budge at all. theres some rust on them so i tried dw40 and pb blaster and nothin. any ideas of how to get the bolts out?

On my 89 I had to cut them out, I got 6 lightly used (installed for 2 weeks before vehicle was wrecked) ones from a spring shop locally for $30 (I think) new they're $30 each.

try an impact or heat

heat, impact, more heat. then if that doesnt work just cut the b!tch off

Heat will probably ruin the factory leaf spring bushing.

they are a bitch to get out... try a torque/breaker bar with a handle extension and some one else with a wrench on the nut if you havent got it off... i cut mine on my old 89.. and they were 100 bucks a peice from GM... was not impressed.

you will take the leaf spring off to prevent damage to the bushing but sense you have the leaf springs off you might as well change the bushings
