That i need to put 12 volts to on the Fuel pump relay to keep the fp working?

Im going to aftermarket gauges and will need to bypass the oil sending unit or whatever gives it power. can i use the inline fuse before the relay?

Ok maybe this is it. I pulled the connector off the oil pressure switch and found out orange is constant, tan hot when cranking ? and pink/black is getting power when pressure is up.

So would it be the pink/black wire i can hook a swtiched power to for the pump ?

Or is it the grey wire from the fuse

check out the wire diagram:

use the dark green/white wire.
i would leave the oil pressure switch alone if running fuel injection. aftermarket guages might use the same gm sending unit(different from pressure switch), or just replace the gm one with aftermarket. if carbed then remove it.

autozone.com has pretty good wiring diagrams, all you have to do is register your email then look up your truck, I use it all the time

Better do one thing instead of discussing it, you can do one thing call your mechanic friend in garage to help you out.
I have tried with wiring diagram but some times its quite confusing.

the wire is one of the ones in the fuse holder to the far left under the fuse panel cover deal in the engine bay, Pull the cover off, Find the fuse holder to the left, Pull out the fuse, and make a lead from your battery to the wire, Find the one that powers on the fuel pump, Cut the OPPOSITE wire and splice it too a 12V Ignition on source, Replace the fuse, pop the fuse holder back in cover and voila, pump should kick on as soon as the key is turned "ON", pump will also stay OFF when you rotate key backwards to listen to music.

This also is a way to get around the PSI sender, it is not needed when wired like this.
