Im looking at buying an 05 sierra 1500 5.3 cc z71. I know it has split rear exhaust, dont know what kind of muffler though. I would go back to one pipe out of the stock location. I love having a quiet truck but i would hate to change it back to stock. Im wondering if any of you have advice as to what exhaust will flow decent but remain quiet? I mainly want to avoid highway drone. Thanks in advance guys

Yep a long Magnaflow is a great choice but why not keep the duals? With the right muffler you can have the nice look of duals but still be almost stock quiet. I say the long Magnaflow or Dynomax Ultra Flo, either will be quiet and still have a slight rumble to it versus a totally silent stock muffler.

i got a magnaflow 5x11x22, largest magnaflow overall, on my 08 silvy with a 5.3 and it is hardly louder than stock.....love it for my daily driver.....good luck.....

There are larger Magnaflows, I had a 24" case Mag on my truck, even with no cat I could barely hear it. They make also 27" and 30" case mufflers, those must be stealthy mufflers.

Im just really not a fan of pipes straight out of the back, or corners. If i would do duals i would put both pipes out of the passenger rear. Just personal preference.
