Hey,
I noticed a while ago my trip odometer was getting tough to flip back and forth to the regular odometer. Well, it finally went out in the regular odometer mode. I took it to the dealer today and they will fix under warranty. I thought this was an opportune time to change to the 2500HD one, with the trans gauge.:D
Well, I mentioned that to the service guy, and he said he couldn't. I even offered to pay the difference if any, and he said that GM won't pay if the exact part wasn't replaced. I have never heard of this. He said there is a sticker on the back of the Cluster and if the numbers don't match when they send it in to recalibrate the odometer GM won't pay them.:(
I would appreciate any input from anyone who has experienced and resolved matters like this, or a service/tech with an idea or policy from GM.
