View Full Version : Got slower !!!!!

Well i went to the track last night to try out the M/T's, and they slowed me down. It ran a 13.08 at 104 mph. Now im not sure thats what caused it, but it ran a 12.96 with the old 26" tall tires and the new ones are 28" tall. Anyhow here is the video and a pic.

This has got to be due to your dyno results. You are loosing hp every day and it is just falling out the tail pipe! You forgot to install the hp filter in the exhaust.

I cant remember, its open to all cars, from 21 sec passes to 4.80's in the 1/8 for the big guys. Not at the same time of course. Thats the difference between a 13.08 and a 16.42.

On a different note, the 5.3 in the 07 pulled like a dream, could barely tell the trailer was there. And the P3 brake controller is awesome!

You should be in the high 300's in HP for your described engine. The torque sounds about right. Something isn't adding up.

I swapped to a supercharger specific carb and what a world of difference. I'm hitting the track tomorow so check back.

Good luck! Sure hope it helps. I just got a tow rig(not new like yours) so norwalk is a bit more reasonable running the nitrous. Pinks this weekend or I was going to hit norwalk friday night. Maybe in a week or two.

Could the loss in gear ratio from the taller tire have hurt that much?

I still couldent come outa the hole real hard, it just wants to spin, i'm not sure on the taller tires cause my 60ft were the same as my 12.96 pass.

The taller tire is gonna weigh a bit more than the other. The height difference will affect your overall gearing and even the converter stall a tick. What's the rear suspension setup again?

Also how did the weather compare to the last time at the track?

Leafs in the rear, and it was hotter than hell last time we were there, in the 90's. Its supposed to be 76 degrees at the track right now, so buy the time we get there i should be cooler. I would be willing to bet a $100 its going to be faster tonight, the carb really brought it to life.
