I have a Wynjammer sc on a 95 5.7 tbi. Per Al at Wynjammer, I am drawing vacuum for the BOV from the intake manifold. (the 1/2" pipe plug just behind the tbi, replaced with 1/2" pipe barbed plug).
Question...is it normal for boost or air to be blowing out the BOV hose all the
time? The only time the BOV shuts is if I really hit the throttle hard. Is
that the way it is supposed to work? This is the black plastic Bosch BOV.
Thanks

Yes, that is exactly how the BOV is suppose to work. Any time there is manifold vacuum greater than 3-4 inches (IE...idle, cruise,) the valve will be open. During WOT runs the valve will close allowing the blower to make boost. Keep this valve on there...it will prevent blower surge at highway cruise and decel.

"Normal" is that it is blowing out any time you are under vacuum.
When you go to boost under load, there is no longer a vacuum signal to it and
it closes - other wise would be like a boost leak.
The purpose is to "vent off" the extra pressure from the charger when under light loads.. saving
the charger and your engine from unwanted wear

Thanks...any suggestions for exhaust? Shorties? Mid lenght? LT's? What cat/muffler? Would like to stay with a big single if it makes sence.
