I have a 1992 Pathfinder that i am trying to sell, it is an awesome car and I have never had one issue until recently the transmission is starting to slip when down shifting to pass someone or get on the highway. It seems that it only happens when the transmission is really hot or really cold. I was wondering if anybody had used products like Lucas Stop Slip and if it worked, or if anyone knows why this would be happening and how much it would cost to actually FIX the issue.

Stop Slip might stop it long enough to hide the problem, but I think you need to tell the buyer either way unless you are comfortable with being a jackass.

Yeah, Im selling it to by boss and I already told him about the issue but I couldnt get the car to do it when he drove it. I would tell anyone about the issue anyway, I couldnt sleep well at night if I didnt. ;) Shi shi shaawww

So, after searching a few other nissan forums and other sites im getting mixed reviews on additives. Of course the official Lucas site is telling me its going to work but a few user reviews have not been as promising. Anyone got any ideas? Any input would be great. Kinda on a time crunch with this one.

Nothing?? No one has ever used an A/T additive and had it work or not work?

IDK what to tell you. I know it was used my buddies S-15 jimmy after the trans started slipping and to this day it's still holding up well. But his application was a unique situation, hauling a 1/2 ton truck on a tandem axle trailer in OD down the interstate & through country roads. Needless to say it was WAAAAYYY overloaded. Trans started slipping as we pulled into town, lucas rep happened to stop in the shop the next day. We dumped the conditioner in after a fluid change and the slipping went away. That was going on over 5 years ago.

Like I said totally different circumstances, fact of the matter is it won't make the problem worse, but at best it's only a ban aid.
