Okay guys I went to a local u pull it yard and seen a 03 duramax with the auto 5 speed Allison sitting there, I talked to the owner and he said it mixes water and oil together while it's running. Now I'm able to get the engine, trans all the wiring and computer for a good song. Now my main question is what else do I need to make this truck run? Gas pedal? Steering column? Intercooler? I plan on dropping it into my 84 crewcab mud truck so before hand I plan on geting it rebuilt and the trans gone through. Who some good companies I can buy a rebuild kit through? And is there any other things I should look for? Any info would be nice thanks guys, and what model engine is this and what's the torque and horsepower ratings?

Do duramax's have an oil cooler? I've seen where the oil cooler on some 7.3 psd's and a couple of the semi's at work have leaked allowing coolant and oil to mix.

Follow the link in my sig to get an idea of what all you will need. It is NOT an easy swap by ANY means, and WILL cost you a pile of money to get completed and running.

Impressive.
Excellent job on the build.
Looks like doing the same project in a C1500 gasser would be a mixed pro/con thing.... more room without the 4wd and TB components, but without the "wait to start" and other oil burner specific items being present in the gasser it would pretty much need a 100% electronics swap from the donor.... not to mention the need to beef up the suspension.
But if you'd like to give it a try, I have a '95 5.7 that already has the 2" BL on it, with 3.42's and a set of 285/75-16s that the 4L60E does not like :D

Okay so since the 84 is a gasser now and I don't care what I have to cut apart and weld to work, so I'm gonna need the steering column, instrument cluster, gas pedal, and intercooler. Also what size core is your radiator?

Your best bet would be to buy the whole truck and then swap the bodies...

you'll need the intercooler, change the fuel system, huge radiator. Not sure about the size differences though and mount differences. I know in diesel trucks they actually beef alot of stuff up. I have an 01 Dmax and mine and yours is an LB7. They make 300hp and about 540ft/lbs of torque. You can get efilive or a tune and get easily 450hp, 800ft-lbs of torque if you build your trans. Diesels are alot easier to get power out of then gassers.

I believe PPE sells a harness to put a Duramax in anything, yes you need the pedal, PCM, TCM, if you have access to the whole truck, pluck it clean, you will probably want the wiring harness even if you buy an aftermarket one. Transfer case is one the wrong side for your 84 truck, need to use something different or change the front diff to Dodge or Ford. It can be done, alot of work but if you do it and finish it, it will be BADASS!!!!
