Locking Center Console

I noticed today well my dad pointed out that my new(to me) 06 silverado center console doesn't have a lock like his 99 sierra does. So i have two questions, first didn't the nbs interior receive a little changes? '03,'04? And did the later model interior like my 06 ever have locking center consoles? Basically im looking to have a locking center console without remaking my whole interior.

Models from 1999-02 had the locking center console, but for 03 they killed that and redesigned the center console. You'd have to swap to a 02 or earlier console to get the lock.
