I went to state capitol raceway today and ran my tahoe along with my cousin and 4 other people. I pretty much ran what I expected. I just wanted to get a base time before I redo my whole exhaust to LTs and single 3" with magnaflow and then 3.73s with G80. I actually ran my first run against a member on this forum, I think his name is james8997? maybe....He has the green and pewter 2 tone OBS stepside. I believe I read somewhere that he has a bored .30 over 350 with a mild cam. He said it hasnt been running good. He still beat me though obviously since I just have boltons.

My first pass(ever):
R/T: .508
60': 2.544
330: 6.820
1/8th: 10.543@66.23
1000': 13.760
1/4: 16.525@81.17

2nd pass:
60': 2.409
330: 6.879
1/8th: 10.591@66.45
1000': 13.786
1/4: 16.519@82.39

As you can probably see from the times, my 1/4 time was faster on the 2nd pass because I stalled it up a little higher, but I spun the first 30ft off the line. I probably could've ran again and tried for 16.3 or 16.4, but I really just wanted to see what it would do. So I'll accept that for now, then get redo my exhaust and get gears and see what it'll do. Them maybe a marine intake one day so then there will be no limits. I would like to do a cam but the crappy stock intake is really the first priority.

You think you need exhaust.

How heavy are your wheels?

i absolutely need exhaust....baddddd....stock everything with a blowmaster aint gonna cut it....LTs, no cats, single 3", and an 18" magnaflow will get it done

my wheels are only like 27 or 28 lbs each without the tires

Stock exhaust isn't as bad on a stock engine as it is on a modified engine is what I was getting at. My 383 is dying for some LT's and 2.5" duals.

What was the DA at the track when you were there?

DA = Density Altitude. Don't worry about it, I was just curious.

Wish I could put my truck in that thick Louisiana air.
