They always try to get possession ASAP for a number of reasons:
1 - Without the truck, you are more likely to accept their lowball offers
2 - They assume that they are racking up storage charges
If the truck is in your driveway, then obviously, it's not going to cost them any more to leave it there. Make this very clear to them, and let them know in no uncertain terms that they are not getting possession of the truck until you reach an agreement on the value. Before they even think about making an offer, they will send an inspector out to verify the condition and the installed options. If he hasn't been there, they don't even know what they are going to offer you.

I would take and calculate all your cost in the build and start from there and work your way down cause they are gonna screw you over if not... they cant tell you that you cant buy the vehicle back, you just have to have the right price i reckon thats what it boils down too.. just be sure to stand your ground and dont let them push you over
DO NOT AGREE TO ANYTHING! I work with this industry alot. You make them give you top dollar for your truck or you go to your state Department of Insurance. If your truck is totaled, you are entitled to fair value. Make sure its fair for YOU.
1. They must tell you what they are willing to offer before you give them the title.
2. Which insurance company are you dealing with?
3. Make sure you get value for all mods, nonstock parts you may have added.
