Can a 4wd trans be install in 2wd Gmc.

Well, I have a 2000 2wd obs 2500 Gmc that I would like to convert it into a 4wheel drive. I don't want to use the existing 2wd 4l80e trans, I wonder if there a huge electric and computer etc issue. I know there is lot of fab. I did do a search and didn't find a complete answer. Or, can someone point me to an existing thread that this project. Thanks:stir:

you would nbeed to change the output shafts on the trans this reuires complete disassembly on the 4l80 units.
