do you want a trail rig or a daily driver? they are not the same thing. trail rigs go on the trailer on sunday, daily drivers get you to work on monday.

honestly, i'm seeing less than $400 in damage to that truck if you fix it yourself. gotta love that stupid Michigan no fault insurance, huh?

it is my daily driver but im still gonna beat the snot out of it. pretty much a street legal trail truck. i dont really care about the ride, heat, a/c. infact i'd rather be driving a topless cj for a daily driver.

id like to fix it but theres a rust hole (the only one on the whole frickin truck) on the frame just under the Radiator support. so i cant pull the frame straight without pulling the frame apart. its only twisted about 3-4 inches out of place so i was thinking of chopping the corner of the support to make my wheel wells normal size again, building a new bumper, redneck my way through fixing the grille (ziptie the ends so i stops moving around), and leaving the frame and fender the way it is.

i'll still be driving it, it just wont be a truck i baby anymore. its a flat black, dented, and i live down a dirt road. it would be nice to be able to build this up based on function over form. i was just wondering if anyone had trucks similar to this.

its a 425 plus hp 358 chevy on propane...All 3inch pipe with flowmaster super 44s with turndowns after the rear axle, pipes are in you face when your behind it...lol. Not to mention its on 39-15-15 with a dana 60/14b locked with 456 gears, 4spd with a 205 case....almost unstoppable....almost....lol

alot hated tho is the 83 cab, 91 suburban front clip and the 95 bed....it looks good to me.

how did you convert the headlights? was it expsensive? i was thinking about do that to my 89 because my headlight mounts are rusted out and the headlights themselves are 20 bucks a pop.

oh, and when you wrecked did you need a new radiator support. and did you bend the frame?

i bought lights from ebay(i think) they bolted right on the support. just need to change the plugs for the bulbs and you're done. as far as the wreck, i completly crushed the front end. bent the left rail up 3 inches, inward 4 just behind the front suspension and it's diamond somewhere behind the front cab mounts. had it pulled somewhat so i can drive her again. new frame at my dad's house plus a completely rebuilt front supension just waiting for spring.

I hate driving it. Horribly gas mileage (roughly 8-10 MPG, depending on how easy I can drive it), and an automatic tranny. I liked my 84 Custom Deluxe better, 300 HP 350 (same engine as the current DD, actually), SM465, 33's, and got a lot better mileage than the 84 Scottsdale.
And it's only the DD until my 01 is street legal again. I don't actually own the 84, it's my uncle's truck.

It looks a lot better in pictures than it does in person.
The black paint hides a LOT of ugly in photos.

Front bumper is tweaked up at the ends.
Left rear quarter panel has a huge dent below the floor line (and of course, I can't get to it to pop it out from behind).
Clearcoat is failing. Passenger door needs new hinge pins. Power locks work, but only the driver's key lock works, and only the driver front and passenger rear interior manual locks work.
Intake manifold leaking coolant (to the outside thankfully). Bunch of other issues that I'm attacking one by one.

Ford's are good trucks, if it were a Dodge i'd be worried the tranny would grenade on you. Actually it's their newer auto's that suck, the 5spd's and older 727's hold up.

My first truck was a 86 Ram 250 with the 727 and a 360. Never had any problems with anything with that truck. It was only 2wd though, I really wish I'd kept it because it was fun.

Not a very attractive truck either, but it got the job done.

This new old truck has the 4-speed, I think that would be a NP-345. It's a little slow shifting from compound low to 2nd, but the other syncros seem to be pretty tight.

well heres mine its a 94 cab box and frame but fenders are off a 93, front bumper is off a 88 hood is off a 91 head lights are off a 98 core support is off a 89 and reinforced brushguard is off a 92. its sporting the homemade headache rack with walmart special lights and (2) count them 2 108inch cb antennas

its originally a 94 ecsb k1500 z71

hopefully putting a body lift in this summer.

also has 243,000 miles on original motor and trans was rebuilt as 200,000 miles

My old S-15. It was really straight, paint was in good shape for an 83, and it ran like a top. But that color was god-awful. And the canopy stayed on for about 5 minutes.

I know this is somewhat of a dig, but then again not much else has been going on.

I think this constitutes as one of the ugliest trucks I've owned. Picked it up under the "Free" section of craigslist. Guy had the title, was moving out of state and didn't want this anymore. Said he didn't know if it ran or not, but it's free and I came knocking. Took a little bit to get it running, but nothing crazy. Put a battery on it, then found out that all the wiring had been stripped for the valve to switch tanks, so the tank was stuck on the passenger tank which just so happened to be rusted out. So after some hose swapping underneath, finally got it fired up.

Used it for bashing, the windows were stuck up and the drivers side door was smashed in, so I found a set of doors off a late 80's suburban and hooked up power windows. Drove it for about 3 months before the transmission went. Sold it for $600.
