I have a 2006 silverado and I was going to get a Black Bear tune but I found a local guy that uses Hp tuner and was told he was good. Which would be better.
Thanks

I purchased the EFI Live Flash / Scan V2 system. It was about $800. The main reason I went with EFI Live was that I could download a free trial version of the software to learn with. I found .tun files online that I could learn with at http://www.holdencrazy.com/ I like my EFI Live equipment. If you have the time / money to invest into tuning for yourself, EFI Live is a good system. The EFI Forum is an excellent resource http://forum.efilive.com/. Not very many FCS members have experience with EFI Live technical questions.

What Dave said. I also use efi live, I chose it over HP tuners for a few reasons - but HP is the choice of many. Each have forums that are helpful. Most people on this site tend to use mail order tunes which seem to have positive feedback. I like the ability to precisely tailor the tunes to my driving style. If you have the time, and a slight learning curve doesn't bother you, efi live or hp tuners is the way to go

My Camaro SS was tuned with HP and my Silverado is tuned with EFI however i DID not tune the vehicles myself. From the difference between stock and tuned there seemed to be as much of a difference with both tunes. With either tune it's a win/win situation

There's a couple on here with experience with both. I have EFI Live and like it. Once I swap the 411 PCM in the support for the OS I'll use is great.

Just for reference, EFILZive and HPTuners are very similar and are considered true tuners software programs. EFILive has some applications that HPTuners doesn't.
However, bottom line is- it all depends on who is using the software.

Pretty far, we moved to CA a few months ago. We are however, looking at having a Louisiana trip at the end of Feb. A post will go up when the dates are confirmed.
