its alot of work! i lucked out and found another dash so i didnt have to pull mine to start just pulled all the rest of the interior out so i could still drive the truck!! as soon as this is done the truck is going in to be painted next week sometime
Orlando Mijares

Yeah I hear ya, mine is getting the paint finished up now and the dash is gonna come out next. I already replaced the carpet when I bought it and put 95+ buckets in it (both front and rear, I have a crew cab dually) I still have to do the headliner, dash, build a center console/sub enclosure, figure out what I am gonna do with my door panels and then figure out what I am going to do to the rest of all the plastic in the truck...
Mine was orignally an old conversion and had the stained wood center console and wodden overhead and wood accents in the doors, with the van style captins seats in it and they had wrapped every piece of plastic in velour, so by the time I got it all the glue had come fabric had come loose and now I have the old glue resedue on everything... Prolly gonna end up rewrapping everything in ultra-suede and painting the parts I dont...
Keep the updates coming!!

Truck is actually sunset orange. But I'm doing black on the interior my seats are grey along with carpet and headliner. I'm doing some pinstriping in the orange and some silver to tie it together the truck is getting two toned black on top with a silver devide pinstripe. Hopefully in the next two weeks.. Should have some pics of the painted pieces tommaro afternoon. Carter are u painting outside???

I pulled mine out and it came out in pieces. Luckily I found one and replaced it...but it took me a month to find it so my truck was just sitting there

Nice work man!! I have a 04 Tahoe I did this to about 3 years ago and still holding up beautifully, mine is black with a silver flake in it I'll try to post pics tommorow. One thing I did different than you was the kick plates,I did mine in black bedliner spray much more durable if used as a daily driver as mine is, also the center pillars are 90% paint and the bottom where kicks and scrapes are more likely I also went with Bedliner not even noticable and great durability IMO.

01-29-2011, 08:18 PM
Tahoe would love to see pics! I have access to body shop daily so I wasn't to worried about the kickbplates I knew they would be roughed up quick but I also am about to try an idea I had with them I'm going to cover them in the clear chip guard that they are putting on new cars hoods and fenders u shouldn't be able to even see it and it is very durable
