so the other night i was coming home from the hill climbs and hit a tree, it just came out of nowhere, but anyway i need to know how hard its going to be to get the bumper off as twisted as it is before i try and fix anything. i tryed posting pictures it wont let me or i'm not doing it right. the bumpers pushed way back into the frame along with the tow hook and its to cold out to look it over so i'm just wondering if anyone has an idea on how hard its going to be?

the front bumper to frame theres only six bolts holind it. on.the brakets to bumper have 2 bolts on each side.if your frame is bent there might be a lil harder to get.i would undo all the bolts on the frame and try to pull it off.

You have to have 5 posts before you can post pics.

As long as you can get to the bolts it shouldn't be all that bad to get off.

That's probley why it won't let me then. Idk if I can get to the bolts cuz I never really looked to see there they were at before it was smashed

yah, tow hook saved the truck otherwise i don't think it'd be driving. frames bent pretty good we couldn't get it straightened out so there won't ever be a plow or body lift on it which is disappointing but oh well i guess it turned out pretty good no one got hurt, my truck still drives and looks better than it did before the accident now

core support was destroyed i put a complete new one in and the frames very bent, to the point we couldn't put the bumper mount in it so it only has 3 mounts instead of the 4. i"ll add the picture with the new core support in i forgot to get any before we put it in

ya i'm thinkin it's about time to let it go 146,000 miles and its startin to have transmission problems, the 4 wheel drives messed up, and its gettin small rust bubbles above the wheels from the wonderful NY winters

Are there any parts you could sell off it and just part it out and then scrap the rest?

theres alot of good stuff on it still that i could sell, the last owner replaced all three doors and the rockers to fix any rust it had, its all leather and has every option they came with, its really a nice truck and i'd take it over a new one anyday but i'm sick of dumping money in it - i just paid to fix all the stuff that was smashed plus a tune up and tranny flush and still have no first gear or overdrive and then to make it better i push my 4x4 button to get through the snow and hit pavement and it starts pulling every which way and hoping down the road so idk whats up with it

Sounds like a good candidate to be parted out then if you've got the space to let it sit while it gets parted.

So the frame is bent, the tranny is fvcked, and the trasfer case is toast or your front and rear gear ratios don't match.

Speaking of matches....

yah i have the room i just wouldn't have a clue what to price everything at, its got a good 350 in it to. once that transmission goes its time for a new 2500hd haha

You can find out prices pretty easily by going out to craigslist and seeing what others are going for. The 350, I'd leave in the truck until you have someone who is putting money in your hand for it then you yank it out that way they can hear it run and that kind of thing. You'll get a higher price for it that way. With having the leather seats, I'd get those things cleaned up really nice and get some good pics of them. You should be able to get $150 for the fronts w/console I think. Maybe more but I don't know and just start researching each thing one by one. If the bed is solid there's another $300 or so. Anyway, you get the picture.

haha yah it needs some serious help, the worst part is i just bought it 4 months ago and the guy was like oh yah all it needs is a power lock motor and new tires, well after a grand for tires and rims, 600 for all the stuff i just did, 200 for the aluminum driveshaft that was coroded through and snapped in the middle of nowhere at 3am, oh dont forget that power lock that he made a big deal about - that part was free, i should have just put all of it towards the 02 i originally looked at
