probably one of the strongest autos out there. pretty cheap to rebuild if all it needs is clutches. youll spend a few hundred on it

Mine lasted 200k before i burned the clutches up from roughhousing it. Im sure it would have gone farther,but i tend to destroy things lol

I was quoted anywhere from 500 to 1200.00 for a rebuild if you dont build it yourself.

to build a 400 right you are looking in the 750-850 range. the 400s really dont need alot of parts for up to 800hp most of its internal setup however the biggest mod is the 34 element sprag if it doesnt have it already..the rest of its increasing the hydraulic capacity of the trans through expereince. whci includes adding more clutches to the drums.
