PS pen tool lag?

Alot of the time when im using the pen tool on photoshop the anchor points lag behind quite a bit. Anyone else experience this? Also is there anything that im doing wrong that can fix it or is it just my computer not performing. Any input appreciated. I wouldnt bring it up if it wasnt such a common annoyance.
