ive got a 95 z71 its got a comp cams cam kit in it eagle 355 rotating assembly all the accessories on it like headers free flowing exhaust. port n polished heads and intake manifold. i found a dual turbo kit that would work on it with some modifications.if its a stupid idea i wont try it but if it will work i wanna try to get 350-375 hp out of it.heres the link http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/Custom/Performance_Parts/Turbo_Charger_Kit/Short_Block_Twin_Turbo_Charger_Kit/548972/

Not a good idea...an LS swap would yield more power easily

well the headers you have obviously dont make a difference now.

What c/r you running?

Forged pistons?
What cam? cam card specs...

plus your stock tranny is gonna take a poop...

i dont know the compression ratio yet. im building the motor and the pistons are hypereutectic. the cam is http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K12-235-2/.i dont have a stock tranny i have a 4l80e 1 ton trans .rebuilt with a shift kit and im looking to see what stall torque converter i want im thinking 1800.i think it may work with some modifications but idk what would happen if i get on the gas real hard. the spec on the rotating assembly says it can handle 500 h.p but idk if thats full truth

Don't think you wanna run boost on hypers, they can't take any detonation. If you do boost w/hypers you have to be really conservative and keep a very close eye on your timing and mixture...

ok cant i have a air fuel ratio guage but what do you mean they cant take any detonation.im new to turbos what do you mean timing?do you mean advance it ir decrease it or make sure it doesnt brake

Boost = increased potential for detonation. Lean fuel mixture = increased potential for detonation. Too much timing = increased potential for detonation. Not knowing compression ratio of your engine combination = flirting with disaster. Detonation + hypereutectic pistons = pistons in multiple pieces.

It's called choosing the right components for the results you want. If the results you want are engine parts that fit loosely in a 5 gallon bucket then you've got a good start. :D

im new to building an engine but i honestly dont know how to add all that up on how to figure up my comp.ratio.so to safely run a dual boost ill need forged pistons.also a turbo doesnt have electronics does it if im right it is run the the exhaust the harder u get on it the more psi ur pushin and the intercooler cools the air and puts it into the intake.ino i ask stupid ?s but im learning thanks for the help

That is a cheap kit. I have installed two kits like that. The cost involved in modifications and headache was not worth it. The stainless headers are thin and poor material. They are prone to crack and even blow apart. If you have no fabrication skills and equipment stay away. Even if you do stay away and just build your own kit. Trust me.

If you do go with forced induction then you have to upgrade the fuel system and tune it. That adds a significant as well.

Retro fit a LS series motor in the truck and you will be very happy. Of build the 355 with the right combo and you will be happy.

Time to do a bunch of reading, before you buy anything. And I don't mean reading advertisements for parts and kits - I mean reading engine building books, and experienced responses from people that have good results from following certain practices.

Learning the hard way by blowing stuff up works too, but gets expensive, and frustrating! Usually takes longer too as you can blow stuff up numerous times before you figure out what you were doing wrong. :D

yea ive been reading a little but i have alot more to learn before i put that kinda of money into something.and also i read that a turbo doesnt actually hurt ur mpg unless u stay in the pedal.i was just curious to how true that actually is
