I've been looking into painting my truck, right now its a pewter metallic and i want to paint it black. Really im just curious if anyone has a clue on how much actual paint ill need. I know i need the other stuff like reducer but im talking just paint. The truck is a 2001 regular cab long bed.

depends on what kind of paint and the mix ratios. also an HVLP gun will use a bit less paint.

with a paint that is 4:2:1 for the base. you will end up with about 1.5 sprayable gallons. 1 gallon will do most larger cars and pickups with paint left over, but I always buy an extra quart or more
