I have a chance at a 6.2 diesel for 200 bucks guy says he yanked it out of the truck has no idea if it runs or not but turns by hand are there any things I can look at to tell if this motor should run?? Also in detail what parts do I need to make this swap work other then an exhaust made up the radiator for the diesel. How do I go about doing the glow plugs or how do I know what wiring to grab for the glow plugs? The sooner I know this the better!! thanks!!

JMHO, unless you are an experienced diesel mechanic and know the 6.2. I say stay away from that engine/swap.

I have an 82 K20 with the 6.2. I thought because it was a "diesel" it would be a tug boat for towing. But it is not. They came with 130hp and 260ft/lbs of torque. Mine has the 4sp OD and got 20mpg empty and 16mpg towing 8000lbs, but other than that there is no advantage to making that difficult of a swap. If you still want to do that swap, I am stripping the 82 for parts and will sell you the 6.2 and cab so you will have everything you needto make the swap for $500.

the 6.2 isn't all the bad with a 6.5 turbo. You will need two batteries a relay for the glow plugs and a momentary switch to activate the GPs don't glow them for more than 10 seconds at a time with out a 5-10 second cool down period
