i may have came across a 14 bolt 9.5 SF axle 6lug if it has 4.10 i'll be buying it. my question is will it bolt up in place of the 10bolt?

you'd have to look for the six lug 14SF from a 87 or older truck (not sure if they exist) or a 6 lug 14sf from a 88-98 and move/re-weld the spring perches.

They didn't exist until the 88-98 body style. All 6-lug trucks from 73-87 were either 12 bolts or 10 bolts. The second part of what you said is what he'll have to do.

they didn't exist, and be careful which one you find out of an 88-98, the more common 2wd rear is 3" narrower, and too narrow for your truck.

wow really. thats good to know, thanks. sounding like a hassle any way. i think i'm gonna stick with the 10 bolt, didn't have an issue it one in the other sb i had
