What is the best intake to buy if your carbing one of these newer motors. I havent purchased an engine yet but im looking into 5.3's and 6.0's. Any feedback and build ideas would be great. Im trying to get into the 500+HP range. May even consider a turbo setup.

Edelbrock has the complete package with the LS1 ignition controller, but IMHO, I would change out the carburetor....I never did like Edelbrock carbs. Its a good starting point though.

Umm why would you put a carb on it. It comes with a great efi set up.
I was gonna build a carb'd LQ4 for my Camaro. I was planning on using the GMPP front cover to use a Ford distributor and get rid of the coil pack BS, and a GMPP carb intake with a Holley carb.
If you want a turbo, Id keep fuel injection. JMO though. I was gonna keep mine n/a with the carb. Maybe running nitrous at the track.

I like FI on my off road truck, but on a street truck I prefer a carb. Im going to look at a couple different setups. I have also been looking for ways to eliminate the coilpacks as well.

Its a nice setup. i like EFI, but I have a buddy with an 01 T/A....he did it just to get away from having to use efi tuning software....he prefers old school, and his Gunson colortune spark plug!

Haha, Im the same way. My goal on this truck is to build a simple, fast as hell Pro-Touring/Street truck. Gutted interior, hand made dash, Horsepower friendly engine and as little wires as possible.

Why? Drag racing, or cruising on the street Id rather have a carb. But carbs just dont do great offroad, unless all you do is mud bogging.

I always liked FI for off road because all of the bouncing around and the occasional incline tend to make a carb act funny. Ive also never had any luck with those off road carbs.
