Alright well since im never happy with leaving something stock i need to do something to my 08 silverado. Im having a hard time deciding what to do, this is my daily and will be used for towing. Im thinking of either lifting a little nothing crazy or lowering a little.

I got my truck used and the stock wheels where painted some and i never liked it always thought it looked cheap and after a year something needs to change. I like the factory 20s that come on the gmc and chevy trucks.

I have a lifted jeep now so i really dont need another lifted truck but i do like how they look. And i drive this truck year round rain snow everything so thats what holding me back on the lowering.

But ive been thinking of doing a small drop 1-3" maybe? On some factory 20s i was thinking would look nice and not be over board just enough to give it a different look.

Heres a couple pics of the truck as it sits maybe if someone has a pic of small drop or lift and some advice it would be awesome. Just keep in mind ill be driving it year round towing and will never be used off road. Im new to modding this truck so not really sure whats good and whats not. Thanks guys

Those wheels look nice, but a factory 20 wins every time so I don't blame you for wanting change. I would simply remove the rear 2 inch block between the axle and lower leaf spring. It's easy and quick to do and cost all of 50 bucks for the new, shorter U-bolts. This will level the truck and once you get a 20 inch wheel/tire package in there you can decide if some more drop front and rear is necessary. And if you don't like the drop, save the blocks and U-bolts and simply swap them back in again.

O cool thats a real good idea i wasnt sure if you would need to loose more than that to level it. Any problems while towing with lowering the back down??

Also no other way to lower the front maybe an inch or so with out big changes?? My old truck was torsion so that would have been real easy haha.

I didn't know for the longest time that the previous owner of my truck removed the rear lift block and I towed sportbikes to and from the race tracks for a few years without issue. I also several times a year load the bed up with mulch and various construction related stuff that brings the bump stops close to the axle (max payload) and I haven't had any ill effects. You shouldn't ever have a problem because with the rear blocks out you are now rocking the same setup as a 2wd version of your truck. Those lift blocks are there for one reason: to keep the truck level looking when the bed is carrying some weight, but 99% of our miles are done with nothing in the bed so it's a good and safe means of leveling the truck.

I say lift it a little with some bigger meats on the fac. 20's.

Alright cool about the towing stuff that's good to hear and yea I would lift it if my jeep wasn't lifted I like the look of these trucks both ways.

I'd say lift it a little, but thats only because I prefer lifted trucks, in the end tho, its your truck, ypur the one who is going to be driving it everyday figure out what will work best for you and what you like and go with that
