I am looking for a Good used truck to pull a camper and one that will not leave me and my family stranded but I have a budget. Does this sound reasonable for mileage and price...I know different areas have more supply and demand...In NC there seems to be more demand than Supply for Dmax, Dually Truck. FLA has great prices but a little far to go but if i cant find one local soon, I may be FLA bound. With that in mind any thoughts about a FLA truck, does the salt air cause issues like a truck from up North exposed to road salt. Getting back to my original question, I am looking at a 3500 Crew Cab 2008 One Owner, Keyless Entry With Remote Start, Clean Carfax, LTZ,Power Leather Seats, Power Tinted Windows, Bed Liner, Tow Package,Tow Mirrors, Step Rails, CD Player, Dual Climate Controls, Cruise Control, Built In Trailer Brakes,4x4. This is at a Chevy Dealer also. they told me out the door 29.5K....What do you think. Worth it or too high for mileage or just right.

Well I did it. I am now the proud owner of a 07 3500 Dmax. It drove great.

half the price of a new one, almost surely all easy highway miles, not bad

not to rain on your parade...rain is doing that as I type this...but that sounds pretty high to me considering 135k miles....like $10k too high. Around here dually go cheaper than SRW. It is a newer year though.
just to compare http://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/2319919094.html or http://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/2317919041.html
But all that matters is you're happy with it.

Yeah, but those trucks are not really comparable. The first one is not an LTZ, and appears to possibly be 2wd, and is 2 years older. The 2nd one is not a CC Dually, and 4 years older. The price on his was probably ~$26,900 or so before taxes and whatnot to make it $29,500. I think it was a fair price :dunno:
Believe it or not NADA retail with 135,000 miles is still over $36,000, not counting if it has NAV, DVD, or plow prep.
edit: is it an 07 or 08???? Has to be an 08 if it's an LTZ. I am pretty sure they only went to LT in 2007.
a 2007 is worth $29,750 with the same options added to an LT.

I got it out the door for 28.5, it was listed for 27. It is hard to get a 4 door with less than 70 K miles for under 35K around here. This one looks and feels new just high miles from Highway use. Picking it up Saturday. If i can figure out how to post pics i will, My avatar is the Truck. I am Stoked...ANY suggestions on fuel additives? ANy thing to keep injectors clean?

It is listed as 07 but end of year when they swithced over to the 08 body so it is a LTZ says it on the truck. It has the updated interior, no dvd or nav but everything else you can think of. Black or dark leather, no wear marks on the seat. The Truck may still be on line a everettechevy in hickory if you want to see the pics. it is white.

congrats on the new truck! and you got a good deal on it too. as far as additives they dont really help too much with keep injectors clean, just always buy from name brand fuel stations (shell, bp, exxon, etc).
the problem is that ulsd (ultra low sulfer diesel) is stripped of all its natural lubricants and its harder on the injectors. check out the diesel place there is a TON of good info there. and also under the maintenance and fluids sub forums there is a study and article about all the major fuel additives out there. its a great read if you have some spare time.
