Don't think that is at all possible and still pass emmissions...

You'll have to start by ditching the stock injection. If you only have a emissions sniff test the you could use a standard aftermarket carb vortec intake with injector bungs and do MPFI. Otherwise I believe that you are stuck using the marine intake and doing MPFI on that. Your stock manifold is only able to handle about 400hp due to flow.

Upgrade the brakes first.
Is there room under the intake manifold? You can hide your nitrouse injectors under there to squeak by the visual inspection.

But really, the only way your going to reach your goals is with a supercharger.

I build naturally aspirated small blocks, high compression with big lift & duration cams with tight lobe seperation. Stroker cranks and bored out cylinders, race design intakes and big carburetors can get you close to 500hp at the flywheel. But are no where near emissions legal.

LQ4+forced induction

or

CTD, like you mentioned before. Not gonna pass emissions with anything else than stock engine or engine that's supposed to fit in your truck. Especially not with a diesel throwing out 500+HP, sounds like it's probably gonna end up as a coal roller.
