I like to hear from those of you who are experienced with the 4.3 v6 some tips on squeezing some extra power out of it without major modifications. Most of my knowledge is with carbureted 4.3s. I've checked on powerchips and other programmers, but for some reason nobody made a program for the 2007 classic... I don't know if it's a confusion considering the body style changed later that year or what, but I bought the superchips programmer anyway. It wouldn't recognize my VIN and wouldn't work at all. I've seen mention of a custom software CD that I could use my laptop with an OBDII attachment to program with, but still not for my 2007. Any advice on this and any other proven methods of performance upgrades (Cold air, headers, exhaust, pulley kit etc...) would be greatly appreciated!

TunerCat OBD2 is the only one that will tune it. If you contact tc@tunercat.com
he might be able to hook you up with a .jdf for your truck to use with JET.
Alot of tuners have every tuning suite known to man eg. Frost could do it and
probably alot more.

I am running a volant cold air kit, jba headers(not the best in my opinion but they are the only ones out there for us), pulleys i went with march, though im pretty sure ASP has some nice kits also. My exhaust is a JEGS offroad y-pipe, with flowmaster HD muffler(50 series i think) single, dumped.

swap it out to a V8 5.3L. The money your gonna spend upgrading that v6 will pay for a swap from a salvage yard plus you'll get alot more power for the same price. plus you won't loose really any MPG's

if you're looking to keep the 4.3 then definitely look at a blackbear tune. it did wonders for my lil motor, and made the truck a blast to drive.
