I have a 2000 silverado ext. cab with a few mods to it. When i read forums I see mentioning of thermostats, I am trying to add everything I can before I start saving up to put indepth parts on(heads, cam, etc...) so I was wondering what exactly changing the thermostat would do for the truck? increase hp or what? Thanks.

Changing the Tstat doesn't really do a whole lot. If you run a cooler tstat it's probably due to the tune you have or other power adders. Just putting in a cooler Tstat on a stock motor won't do anything it actually will just cause you to lose gas mileage because the truck isn't running at the correct temp

Hmm, alright then I won't bother. But I want more hp and better mpg, I have a CAI flowmaster catback exhaust and I'm getting LT headers and a y-pipe next week sometime which will remove the cats and make my exhaust a complete system from the headers back. What else could I do to add hp or mpg preferably both but just hp works for me. What else could I add though?
